About Us

Our Story

Inspiring Purpose Day Program is a non-profit organization that provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with resources, skills, and a sense of community to lead a purposeful and healthy life.
IPDP was founded in 2020 by a parent of a daughter who has Rett Syndrome. As a lot of adults with disabilities enter into the world beyond school,  they struggle to find programs that serve a life long purpose. In 2021, Inspiring Purpose opened its doors to fill this void in our community to help serve adults with disabilities; the only program of it’s kind in Anderson Township.

At Inspiring Purpose, we are committed to assisting individuals with identifying their personal strengths, areas for development, goals and aspirations. This individualized information is utilized by the team to guide individuals to what they, themselves define as a purposeful and fulfilling life. IPDP is also very much committed to all individuals within the program to have the option to participate in their own way in all activities, projects, etc., regardless of ability or limitation.

Through education, exposure, and community integration, each individual in our program is encouraged to set goals and work through the struggles and celebrations of achieving those goals as laid out in their individualized plans.

Community integration is a key component of the program and serves as the guiding force behind all decisions made in regard to the programming provided. We utilize a multi-faceted approach to programming as we understand that not everyone wants the same outcomes in life. Some come to our program to learn skills to eventually obtain a job and become more independent, some want a more balanced social life or to simply get out into the community and explore; others are seeking a safe and healthy environment to build a circle of support and community.

At Inspiring Purpose Day Program, it is our intent to establish a program around the individual, rather than expecting individuals to establish themselves around the program. We utilize a combination of programming that includes life skills, vocational training, volunteer work, job coaching, arts, recreation, community outings and community integration within the center, by way of also bringing community to the program, rather than always seeking out community.

*IPDP accepts both Medicaid and private pay.
